Mansa Krishnamurthy's bedroom and bathroom were in perfectly lovely condition, but lacked the personality and luxury she knew she could create for herself. So, she signed up for the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge and walked us through the transformation of a room that looks deceptively simple.
Mansa can tell the story better herself, and she does in her blog: This is Simplicite which details her 8 week transformation and her thoughtful approach to every detail.
Case in point, before staining and installing this intricate panel pattern one plank at a time, Mansa painted the entire wall with Black Cat KM4883. The result is a quiet but impressive architectural texture without any distraction. Looks easy, right?! Read her blog for details on her painstaking efforts to get every step of this project right.
by contrast simply panting the trim in a soft warm gray trim detail was a simple touch that added luxury hotel glamour to her bathroom. Krishna proves that black and white rooms don't have to be boring and flat. By working in areas of gray, you can create layers of warmth and beauty and are subtle and refined, and well worth the effort.
We're grateful to Krishna for trusting us with her first painting experience. She says, "The folks atKelly Moore painthelped me pick two complementary gray colors with violet undertones that would work well with the richest black tone possible. I painted the room myself and let me tell you, the quality of this paint is TOP NOTCH! I'm a total amateur when it comes to paint, but I really enjoyed the painting process ... this paint was so easy to use! "
