So here we are stepping lightly into 2021 looking to restore a sense of calm and get grounded again as we prepare for whatever this new year may bring.
At the Kelly-Moore Color Studio we're seeing warm comforting terracotta colors like KM5428 Himalayan Salt emerging as a much bigger trend this year. Why you ask?
Well, we know the restorative properties of salt, clay, metals, and minerals. Even the colors that represent these elements can instill a sense of well-being, calm focused energy, reassurance, and soothing.
As you look for warm earthy hues to soften your space, consider Himalayan Salt for a rosy rich look that's casual and comfy.
Or consider a more muted mauve tone like KM4516 Arrow Quiver.
Kyle Aaron Designs chose this chocolate-y neutral for the amazing collaboration we launched last Fall with him and Maker & Moss. We created three vignettes to celebrate gathering in all its new forms. I loved seeing how much Arrow Quiver changed with the light and look forward to sharing more collaborations with Kyle Aaron and Maker & Moss owner, Matt Bissinger, this year.
If you need something a little more energy boosting. Rusty metal colors like KM5372 Copper Beach are perfect for creating a sense of balance, healing, and focus. It's why I chose KM5372 Copper Beach, a wonderful warm metal color, to balance the bold golden arch rising in the center of the mural.
Even the palest hues can feel like the soft white edges of these natural elements. They install in us a quite calm that's easy to live in.
